Watch his goals from last year and tell me he shouldn't be starting for Arsenal. If the players could cross the ball like they did then and actually set up Marouane, he could score even more. But the players are selfish and shoot stupid balls (Arshavin, Bendtner, Walcott, Gervinho, RVP) and never include him.
He is a great header, but they can't cross a ball to save their lives...

Not a Good Start
Today Arsenal played their first match of the season and definitely DID NOT impress. Looking limp from the starting whistle, the Gunners could not find the right organization to score. Marouane, again, did not play at all so I'm really hoping that Arsenal lose every match this year. Wenger has completely lost the plot. I'm sure he will blame the transfer sagas for part of their inability to score today, but in reality it had nothing to do with that. They played this poorly last year with and without Cesc and Nasri.
Joey Barton was of course a lightning rod in the match. First, he was stomped by Alex "Skunk" Song, who is now sporting an even more heinous hairdo than last year. After Barton went down, Skunk deliberately stepped on him. The fourth official did not make a call, which is hilarious, as he was within yards of the incident. But the fact that Skunk was not called for the offense means the FA (if they have the cojones) could cite him post-match for the missed call.
Barton, as you can imagine, was not happy about it and complained vociferously in a way only Barton can do.
Later on in the match, Gervinho (whom I call Gerbilinho) dove in the penalty area and Barton got really mad. He marched over and pulled the Gerbil off the pitch and yelled at him, then everyone else had to get involved and in the fracas, Gerbil took a swipe at Barton's head, who then fell to the floor as if he'd been smacked by Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson. The ref came over and issued a red card to the Gerbil, and then gave a yellow to Barton.
On Twitter, Barton traded jibes with Jack Wilshere (who was injured, but obviously not too injured to tweet), Robbie Savage (another idiot), and Piers Morgan (an avid /rabid/stupid Gooner). Barton has become somewhat of a Dalai Lama with spiked boots...spouting Nietzche-esque quotes littered among his biting tweets.
My favorite of his today was this one directed at Piers "Moobs" Morgan:
"I was merely helping him regain his obviously dodgy balance #cheatingbarsteward" hahaha
The overall opinion of this incident from the MUFC fans on twitter was..."how dreadful, but entertaining!"
No Marouane, No Care about Arsenal...

Chamakhing Me Crazy!
Last season ended poorly for the Gunners and Marouane. Fading down the stretch has become a hallmark for the once-unbeatable Arsenal. Manchester United ran away with the title toward the end of the season, proving once again to Arsene Wenger, that you can't rely on youth alone.
Arsene has promised the Gunner faithful for too many seasons now that he will buy buy buy in the transfer market. Just last week he said that a player of "super quality" would be arriving soon...who is this player? Nobody knows. But one thing the fans know is that by the time the first match is played this weekend, two of the Gunners should be well on their way to different clubs.
Cesc has been a wantaway for several seasons now and it comes as no surprise that he engineered a move once again this summer. It seems that Wenger has his hands tied at this point because his "captain" (in name only) wants to return to Barcelona where he can sit on the bench collecting splinters until Xavi and Iniesta feel tired in the 85' and want to be subbed off...
Arsenal has no leverage with Cesc at all. He hasn't produced for the club and has been a serial crock for the last two seasons. No trophies (last year's Emirate's Cup doesn't count). Dumped out of the Champions League (albeit by a cheating/diving Barcelona). Losing the Carling Cup final to Birmingham (a team that was relegated at the end of the season). It's not like Cesc is Cristiano and has won every trophy there is to win, personally and collectively. At this point...Cesc has been discounted, I'm sure.
Nasri is another who is on his way out. Marouane confirmed this in an interview with l'Equipe the other day. His destination seems to be Man Poo, even though he/Arsenal turned down a chance to sell him to Manchester United. You can be certain that the owners of Middle Eastlands splashed more cash (their modus operandi) prompting Wenger to acquiesce.
So what is the problem? Teams sell players every year.
The problem is...who is Wenger going to get to replace these two?
I would hate to think that Wenger is thinking of dropping Marouane back behind van Persie to fill in for Cesc. Hopefully that won't happen, but I'm not sure when Marouane will get playing time.
My prediction? Arsenal 5th in the standings

Finally Some Pitch Time!
I haven't posted on here in a while because I didn't have anything to talk about. But with Marouane's recent match with Morocco and his 25 minutes on the pitch with Arsenal yesterday, I can finally say something!
MOROCCO
Marouane played in a friendly against Niger during midweek. He played very well and almost scored a few times. One was an easy feed to him with an open goal, but the pass was slightly behind him and he couldn't manage it. That was his best chance to score. He did have a few other good shots at goal but they were saved by the keeper.
Morocco won the match and I was impressed with their marked improvement from recent games. Maybe they are finally back on track and will push for the ANC title and possibly a World Cup berth in 2014.
ARSENAL
I've made no secret of my displeasure with Arsene Wenger for leaving out Marouane in the side. Wenger publicly said that Marouane needed a break because he had played too much in the first half of the season. I believe that maybe 60%. I still think that the big mouths of Robin van Persie and Niklas Bendtner had a bit to do with it.
van Persie has been scoring so you can't fault his appearance in the side, but Bendtner is utter crap. The commentators in yesterday's match said just that, as have the others in previous matches. One went so far as to say that "Bendtner has a hugely inflated opinion of himself....telling everyone that AC Milan are interested in him...when I would bet it's more like Newcastle are interested in him." Hahahahaha...couldn't have said that better myself!
In yesterday's match, Marouane played very well and set up two near-goals...one by Fabregas and another by Clichy. Bendtner just sprayed balls left and right and lost possession. Let's hope that Chammie gets more chances in the near future. Arsenal play Barcelona at the Emirates on Tuesday. The Champions League has always been a goal-boon for Cham...maybe he'll prove me right!

Where is Marouane Chamakh?
I have to say that I'm a little miffed at Arsene Wenger and the Gooners of London.
At the beginning of the season they were down several players (two who are serial crocks, and one who is serially stupid), so they asked their new man, Marouane Chamakh, to jump in with both feet and take over the striker position.
Marouane did so with great aplomb and managed to score 10 goals for the Gunners, several which salvaged points leaked away by their pathetic defense.
But once the serial crock with the big mouth, Van Persie (van P**sy to me) returned (still not fit) he started flapping his gums about how much he wanted back in the starting lineup. Arsene Wenger obviously listened to him and started dropping Marouane to the sub bench (citing that Marouane was exhausted). I don't believe the tired story. Marouane played every match with Bordeaux last year (save for a few he was rested), so I can't see why he would be unfit to play.
Another idiot with a big mouth (Bendtner) who is widely-regarded to be WORTHLESS on every account, also spewed off in the press about his lack of playing time, citing Marouane's starter status.
Marouane was getting good service in the first part of the season until these mooks started spouting off. It sounds to me like there is a bit of jealousy in the Gooner ranks...which wouldn't surprise me. They seem to fade down the stretch, and their infighting/pettiness might be the culprit.
So now Marouane is barely getting playing time. When he does, he feeds others to score, or in Arshavin's case, feeds the dumb Russian who manages to miss every shot he takes!
My point was proved tonight when Marouane was subbed off in the 71' for Fabregas. Minutes later someone fed van P**sy a beautiful cross to head in for the goal. Why didn't that person do the same for Marouane? Marouane is far superior in the air to just about anyone in the EPL, so you would think the Gunners would capitalize on that. But no...
It pains me to watch such a good player being treated as a second-class and third-class player.
Would he have been better off staying at Bordeaux?
I don't know. Maybe Gourcuff wouldn't have left to go to Lyon had Marouane decided to stay. But I think the deciding factor for both was that manager Laurent Blanc was going himself...taking over for the ousted and useless Raymond Domenech at the French National Team.
If the Gunners continue to waste their resources like Marouane, they will find themselves lacking in the trophy department once again.

Singin' About Chamakh
This is a video uploaded by a Moroccan fan of Marouane's. It shows Arsenal fans in England singing his song.
Some of the comments suggested it was racist.
It starts out, "He's not white and he's not black, he comes from a place not far from Iraq."
I don't think Marouane would find it offensive, but maybe a little ignorant. He's from France, not Morocco, which by the way isn't close to Iraq either. Obviously the Iraq reference was due to the rhyming scheme.
"He plays up front, he loves to attack.....Marouane Chamakh"

Marouane Receives Award from Bordeaux; Bonne Anniversaire!
How appropriate that Marouane received the Best Player of 2010 award from his former club, Bordeaux. The fans voted on the award, as it's obvious that they would have liked Marouane to stay...but understood why he left.
A contentious relationship with club president, Jean-Louis Triaud, meant the Aquitaine club lost their best player on a Bosman free transfer last June. Chamakh had considered staying, but after his ridiculous treatment by Triaud and the club's hierarchy, he decided to skip off to the much more high-profile English Premier League. He has netted 11 goals for the Gunners, even though a recent dip in form (probably due to the loud mouths in the press of van Persie and Bendtner wanting their spots back) has meant he hasn't started a match since early December. He has struggled to score from the head with Arsenal, something for which he was renowned at Bordeaux, because quite frankly, the Gunners suck at crossing the ball! Marouane definitely misses the pinpoint accuracy of Yoann Gourcuff's crosses...as do Bordeaux, since Gourcuff left as well to join Ligue 1 rivals Lyon.
Hopefully Marouane will be able to shut out the pathetic criticisms of Arsenal's official Glass Jaw (van Persie) and Box Choker (Bendtner) and find his winning form that he displayed in the first half of the season.
Arsene Wenger admitted a few weeks ago that Marouane was tired (having started almost every match since the beginning of pre-season). Used to the break over Christmas enjoyed in Ligue 1, Wenger decided to rest him during the same period this year to let him ease into the harrowing schedule kept by the Premier League.
Marouane will turn 27 on Monday. Bonne Anniversaire!!!!!
